Day 4 of 12 Days of Holiday Marketing Tips - Throwing a Shopping Event

Social Media Answers

I hope you have been enjoying the 12 Days of Holiday Marketing Tips so far. I have been having a great time putting these all together for you. My brain has been working hared storming up all these ideas for you. My goal is to give you some inspiration for some brainstorming of your own.

Today's tip is something that I had used when I was in direct selling. I was selling Mary Kay (still a consultant, love the products) I contacted other direct selling consultants from other companies to come together and hosted at my home we had a holiday event that resembled a small trade show in my great room. I put out tables and space for each consultant to display their products and make a presentation.

I had a consultant from Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Party Light and Creative Memories. It was a great time. We all learned about each other's products and it was very rewarding. The benefit of this type of event is that with joint ventures you have help marketing the event and you share a customer base with each other growing each other's lead lists.

Tip 4 of the 12 Days of Holiday Marketing Tips: Throw a holiday shopping event in a joint venture with others.

You can take this tip and put spins on it to match your industry or product.

- If you have international clients that are online, you can throw an event on Twitter in combination with others. Events are conducted all the time on Twitter very successfully.

- You can use a online trade show company to conduct an online trade show.

- You can host the event at a hotel meeting room or at your home. Make sure you get proper permits that may be required in your local area.

- You can try to conduct the event through a teleseminar or webinar.

But what ever way you choose to conduct your event, you should make sure it is easy for your visitors to purchase. Also, make sure that you plan the event and market it well in advance. The joint ventures that you choose to join with should also bring to the event an equal amount of effort and leads as yourself otherwise their participation will be in vain.

Here are some other tips for the event:

- Create a well planned marketing plan to get visitors to the event well in advance. Incorporate emails and direct mail. Announce that there will be giveaways at the event. Make sure that your joint ventures are doing the same with their lead lists.

- I mentioned giveaways in the last tip above. Each joint venture should bring something to give away at the event. Nothing brings in event guests better than the anticipation of winning a giveaway.

- Have each joint venture plan a presentation as well as yourself. This will make the event, well eventful.

Be creative with this idea. You can spin it many ways and it can be very rewarding for you and your joint ventures. It can be done online or offline. You may even rinse and repeat this event every year. It can also be a part of your 12 Days of "something" Holiday Marketing campaign.
