Working from home this past year and a half has had its challenges. Starting a new business is an exciting and sometimes scary undertaking. I want people to know my name and recognize my company as one they feel confident doing business with as well as referring to others.
Marketing my business on a small, and I do mean small budget has been tough to say the least. As a t-shirt and stationery designer I have been able to keep much of the marketing expenses to a minimum. Here is my top strategy:
Tupperware probably put home-based marketing parties on the map. I followed suit with my home-based Tee Parties. They have allowed me to introduce my work to friends, family and neighbors in an informal, relaxed environment.
A few yummy snacks, some inexpensive beverages like bottled water or one of your fav signature drinks are perfect starters. Some displays of your product/service and a take home item that represents your company, like an inexpensive paper fan with your logo, brochure, coupons, etc. Don't forget, be prepared to even take orders or book consultations during your party.
