Trade Show Marketing

- Social Media Answers

Exhibiting in a trade show is great for getting in front of the customer and showing what you have to offer and your value. The following are pointers to make your experience a success.

Planning

You should first have a plan before you participate in a show. What do you want it to look like? What are you going to do at the show? What are you bringing with you? What results do you want from the exhibit? All of this should be decided first.

Pre-Market Your Trade Show Exhibit

Announce your trade show participation to your list of leads. Tell them what specials you will be giving and encourage them to stop by your booth. Make it enticing.

Make Your Booth Engaging

Answer questions that your booth visitors ask. Make it rewarding to have visited you. Give them a reason to remember you. Make them feel that you would be the best choice to handle their needs.

Give Them Something to Remember You By

Trade shows are the place for freebies. Have a freebie or drawing that will result in a sale or give them something to remember you by when they get home and a week later look through their trade show goodie bag.

Follow-Up

You did get the booth visitors’ contact information before you gave the freebie, right? Use this information to follow-up with them. If you never follow-up, they will forget about you. However, if you consistently follow-up you may reach them when they are ready to buy.

Analyze Your Experience

Analyze what you did right and what you did wrong at the trade show. By analyzing your experience, you will get better and better at each trade show until you become an expert at it.

Keep Learning

Experiment with something new at each trade show to see if you can learn something new that will work. Times are always changing and your customers change with it. What worked at one trade show may not work at the next and a new idea may refresh your visitor's experience. You may get repeat visitors at your booths and by having something new, it will keep them coming to your booth until they are ready to buy.

Keep An Eye On Your Finances

Trade shows can get very expensive and you do not want to overspend on trade shows that do not grow your profits. Analyze the trade shows you attend and make sure they are doing everything possible to market it and get a decent attendance.

There is a lot to working a trade show the right way, and making it profitable and rewarding. If done right, it can substantially grow your business; it has for mine and I can help it do the same for you.
